Report on Thailand-Japan MicroWave 2011
Thailand-Japan Microwave is a technical workshop established in the year of 2009. It aims to improve the continuous friendship between microwave societies of both Japan and Thailand. The first TJMW was held at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) in 2009. This year Prof.Dr.Monai Krairiksh, the general chairman, organized the TJMW 2011 held at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) during August 10-12, 2011. Two keynotes and 39 papers including 6 invited papers had been presented on August 10-11 while 5 short courses and student poster session were on August 12. The topics of those 2 keynote speeches included “Wideband and Multiband Antennas” by Prof. Vech Vivek from KMUTNB and “Magnetic Resonance Type Wireless Power Transfer Systems” by Dr.Ikuo Awai, the IEEE Fellow. The invited talks had been provided by Prof.Akira Matsuzawa from Tokyo Inst. of Tech., Prof.Kiyomichi Araki from Tokyo Inst. of Tech., Prof.Siegfred Balon from Univ. of Philippine, Prof.Eko Rahardjo from Univ. Indonesia, Prof.Tubtim Angkaew from Chulalongkorn Univ., Prof.Mitchai Chongcheawchamnan from Prince of Songkla Univ. All 133 participants attended this TJMW including 94 from Thailand, 37 from Japan, 1 from Indonesia, and 1 from Philippine.
TJMW 2011 was sponsored by KMITL, IEICE Electronics Society, and IEICE Bangkok Section. It was technically co-sponsored by IEEE MTT/AP/ED Thailand Chapter, IEEE MTT-S Japan/Kansai/Nagoya Chapter, and ECTI Association.
